Look at games like Demons Souls. It was not even close to a big AAA title when it first came out but it was such a good game that gamers gave it good word of mouth and it exploded leading to Dark Souls. I'm not saying Altus was a low end indie dev but they were no Activision.
For the people saying "at lease MS showed the console!" Well, I would rather not see the console for 5 weeks and know for a fact the slew of games that are coming out for it. Also, we learned specs and that gaiki is in the works.
I'll take unseen unit with guaranteed hardcore games over seeing a big box with zero guaranteed HARDCORE games and a slew of restrictions any day.

Forget the GameStop scenerio. If I buy a new game, beat it then decide to give or sell it to a friend they will have to pay a fee to play it. This means gone are the days of recouping 40 bucks of the 60 I spent from craigslist. Gamestop give you 15-20 cash for new releases. Its a total ripoff.

Agreed. Being a Sony fan on n4g in 2008-2010 was brutal. Back in the days of the "open zone" I would get death threats, name calling and flat out harassment. Had to change user names a couple times. Now, the tides have turned.

That's fine and dandy buy I don't want it connected. Why? Call me paranoid but I know some very computer savvy folks who can easily hack into programs and I don't want some dbag hacking my system and turning on the camera. They would see inside my house and that is very unsettling.
Even if they came out with 15 harcore, AAA exclusives along the lines of Sonys god of war, infamous or uncharted I won't do it. There is no way I'm letting always on kinect I side of my house.
Always on sucks but not a deal breaker. What kills this for me is mandatory kinect. I will never ever use it so having to put the thing on my TV pisses me off. But that's not as bad as knowing some ahole might hack it and be able to see inside my house. What if they want to rob me? Now they know when no one is home. I'm a sony lover. Look at my history. Problem is they said they won't block used games but didn't say if you would have to pay a fee to play them. They simply said they are not talking g about that at this time.
So, sure it will play a used game but when you put it in will there be a message that says to continue playing please buy a "pass" or "used game license"? This is the 50000 dollar question for people.
